Position Summary:

The Quality Technician is also responsible for other QA activities to support factory floor on shifts of production when demand is needed. Performing factory pre-operational inspections.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Auditing and verification of sanitation performance and GMP's including pre-operational sanitation, maintenance of ATP units and procedural compliance. Frontline support for operations including collaborative problem solving, mentoring, trouble-shooting and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain laboratory chemicals, balance inventory of supplies and keep working environment in clean condition.
  • Prepares (and assures accuracy of) standards, reagents, etc. needed for analyses.
  • Knowledge of Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
  • Will perform chemistry analysis on finished product, Product Development (PD) samples, or raw materials.
  • Collect information (all pertinent facts) to make decisions or recommendations for disposition or follow up - relative to quality/food safety.
  • Support Continuous Improvement Initiatives for factory metrics to enable the achievement of business objectives (i.e. customer complaint investigations/returns, foreign bodies/material reduction team).
  • Promote Quality and Food Safety culture in the organization.
  • Take swabs and maintain data for the weekly Environmental Monitoring Program.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned by the QA Lab Supervisor, Factory Hygienist, and the QA Manager or Designee.
  • Assures adherence to safety regulations.

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent or a minimum of 2 years work experience in a related field (Food Science / Quality).

Associates Degree or higher preferred.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Good judgment and logical deductive reasoning, critical thinking, implementation and analytical skills.
  • Professionalism.
  • Leadership qualities to work with management and coach others when necessary.
  • Speaks up and gives productive feedback.
  • Can execute non routine tasks with little supervision.
  • Have a deep understanding of a laboratory environment and maintenance and running of laboratory related equipment.
  • Strongly attentive to details, work independent of supervision, ability to run multiple job requirements / projects (multi-task effectively) and ability to retain information.
  • Heavy lifting throughout shift, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work Overtime.
  • Computer skills Outlook, Access, Microsoft Office and internal Nestle / Minor's systems (SAP) experience preferred.

**This is a 2nd shift position: 4 pm-12 am, with rotational overtime

Pay $27.55
