Requirements


Responsibilities
* The Support Specialist I is an entry-level customer service role within the Technology Support Center ( TSC)
* The Support Specialist I operates the TSC support desk and provides both live and virtual end user support ( Technology and Professionalism)
* This is a student worker position
* 90% - Respond to support issues that come into the TSC desk ( Critical Thinking and Communication)
* Respond to level 1 support issues via scripted responses ( Communication and Professionalism)
* Accurately document and report support ticket information ( Critical Thinking)
* 10% Contribute to and/or refine the documentation and knowledge base of the TSC ( Technology)
* Communicate written technical information in a clear and concise manner ( Communication)
* Other duties as assigned
* During Summer this may include network and system installation and support ( Technology)
Qualifications
* Current USF student in good standing
* Ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in person, in email, in chat systems, and via virtual conferencing tools (Communication, Critical Thinking)
* Experience working in a customer service function (Critical Thinking, Teamwork)
* Ability to empathize with end users (Critical Thinking, Professionalism)
* Basic knowledge of common computer operating systems and software applications (Technology, Career & Self Development)
* Basic knowledge of learning management systems; specifically Canvas (Technology, Teamwork, Professionalism, Career & Self Development)
* Basic knowledge of network systems and how networks operate (Technology, Career & Self Development)
* Basic knowledge of computer hardware including PCs, Macs, Printers, Tablets, Mobile Devices, etc. (Technology, Career & Self Development)
* Able to perform the physical requirements of the position (Career & Self Development, Teamwork, Leadership)
* Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university
* Eligible for Federal Work Study Award in financial aid package preferred
Pay Rate Hourly $15.00
