The Clinical Dietitian oversees the nutrition care of inpatients, residents, and/or outpatients, performing nutritional assessments, and managing the physician's orders for therapeutic diets and supplements. The Clinical Dietitian provides individual and group nutrition interventions based on evaluation of the patient, family, and significant others, while considering the individual's cultural, ethnic, and personal needs and preferences. The nutrition care plan is monitored and revised as necessary through an interdisciplinary process.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
  • Completes nutrition assessments and follow-ups on patients with increased nutritional risk in accordance with Roger's policies and best practice standards. Document assessment of patients with nutritional goals, plans of care and/or changes in status in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Performs the nutrition care process by conducting nutrition assessments, assigning nutrition diagnoses, implementing nutrition interventions, and providing appropriate nutrition monitoring and evaluation.
  • Develops and implements an individualized plan for nutritional intervention in accordance with the patient's medical program goals and objectives.
  • Recommends the need for transitional feedings (from enteral to oral intake and vice-versa) and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team that determines the appropriate administration of nutrition therapies and food.
  • Educates patients and/or family members on nutritional needs as indicated.
  • Serves as a resource to medical staff and allied health personnel on nutritional status/needs.
  • Adheres to Roger's policies and procedures, including the confidentiality and patient's rights policies as outlined in the facility's policies and procedures manual.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide optimal care and a patient centered approach.
  • Meets Clinical Dietitian I annual requirements within 12 months of hire as outlined in RBH Registered Dietitian Clinical Ladder Portfolio Checklist. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
  • Partners with Culinary Staff to ensure accuracy with modified diets and address patient concerns.
  • Participates in the Rogers Operating Systems (ROS) program and Standard Workflow.
  • Demonstrates an understanding and adheres to Joint Commission and other regulatory agency compliance guidelines.
  • Observe weekend/on-call and holiday rotation expectations.

Additional Job Description:

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Dietetics or bachelor's degree if licensed prior to 2024.
  • One (1) year experience in a clinical setting.
  • Completed an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited supervised practice program (Dietetic internship).
  • Successfully passed Registration Examination for Dietitians.
  • Maintain registration through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Obtained and maintain state certification (up to 90-days post hire allowed to receive certification).
  • Aware of and understand Joint Commission and other regulatory agency compliance regulations.
  • Formal training in crisis prevention and intervention is required within sixty (60) days of date of hire. Annual recertification is required.
  • Dietitians working in a community based Residential Facility (CBRF), Residential Care Center (RCC) program, or pool staff are required to complete CBRF first aid, fire safety, and standard precautions within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required within thirty (30) days of date of hire. Annual re-certification is required.
