Human Resources Intern - Talent Acquisition

Overview:This internship offers a comprehensive introduction to full-cycle recruitment, including job description development, reference checking, background check compliance, and assisting with project start-up. The intern will also support key strategic research projects for talent acquisition outreach and work closely with the Talent Acquisition Team and country teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Job Description Development:Review, standardize, and organize existing job descriptions to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Reference Checking: Assist in conducting reference checks to verify candidate qualifications and fit.
  • Interview Coordination: Assist in setting up interviews for candidates and panel members in geographically dispersed locations, managing different time zones and schedules.
  • B ackground Check Compliance:Support the compliance process for background checks, ensuring all necessary documentation and procedures are followed.
  • Project Start-Up: Provide administrative support for the start up recruitment of newly awarded projects.
  • Resource Guide Development: Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition Team to create a resource guide for job boards and country-specific recruitment resources.
  • Social Media Recruitment:Research and recommend strategies to enhance the use of social media as a recruitment tool.
  • Professional Competencies:Develop a resource to standardize professional competenciesacross job families and experience levels.
This internship provides hands-on experience in full-cycle recruitment. The intern will gain valuable skills in recruitment processes, compliance, and strategic outreach.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate student in Human Resources or International Development (or related field)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; applicants should express in their cover letter how this internship relates to their field of study and future career goals
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
  • A genuine curiosity about people and how they work together
  • Strong organization skills, an appreciation for pivoting to work on many different projects in a day and the ability to multitask/prioritize based on urgency
  • Interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and accomplish tasks through influence.
  • Must be able to work independently on a project basis and meet frequent deadlines
  • Inquisitive nature and an eagerness to learn

-Ideally internship candidates are full-time or part-time students.

-This is paid internship and the selected candidates are responsible for their own housing, transportation, and other related costs.

In the day to day, the intern will work closely with the Talent Acquisition Team and country teams to develop a resource guide for job boards and country-specific resources to build outreach. This will provide the opportunity to gain full-cycle recruitment experience with a focus on building diverse candidate pipelines for a variety of positions across the organization.

Responsibilities may include:

  • A project that concentrates on identifying the most effective recruitment resources in the countries where MSH works;
  • Researching and making recommendations on how to increase and improve the use of social media as a recruitment tool;
  • Reviewing, standardizing, and organizing existing job descriptions;
  • Developing a resource that will standardize professional competencies across job families and experience levels; and
  • Contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) outreach including collecting association and career fair contacts

The expected salary range for this position is: $20,000.00 - $30,000.00 annually (U.S. locations only).
