Postdoctoral Position at Florida Atlantic University, Jupiter Campus

A Postdoctoral position is available at Florida Atlantic University, Jupiter Campus, in an established research group. The candidate will utilize electrophysiology, imaging, and behavioral techniques to investigate how experience-dependent plasticity shapes hippocampal function, with a focus on learning and memory.

The lab is located in the brand-new Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute, equipped with state-of-the-art neuroscience tools. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate within a vibrant research community, including the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience, The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology, and the FAU neuroscience community.

The position is supported by startup and grant funding. The successful candidate will conduct high-quality research related to:

-Cellular and molecular mechanisms of circuit plasticity and connectivity.

-Interneuron physiology and its role in information processing.

-Impact of experience-dependent plasticity on neural circuit function.

The Principal Investigator is dedicated to providing comprehensive training in lab management, student mentoring, grant writing, and budgeting to enhance scientific achievements and foster professional development.

Basic Qualifications:

PhD in biomedical sciences (or pending completion). Evidence of published scholarly work. Ideal candidates will have experience in electrophysiology, behavioral techniques, or in vivo recording methods. Additional expertise in molecular biology and imaging (e.g., immunohistochemistry) is a plus.
