Our team inSpace and Defense Groupis looking for a Senior Receiving Inspector, 2nd shift to join them. You will report to the Quality Control Manager and will have an onsite, 2nd shift (3:00pm-1:00am), 4/10 work schedule in Orrville, Ohio.

4/10 schedule: You work 4 days, Mondays-Thursdays, 10 hours each day and have Fridays off!

This schedule allows employees to work 40 hours per week while still having an extra day off. You may be asked to work some Fridays which is overtime pay.

To be considered for Senior Receiving Inspector, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

  • 5 years or more inspection experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Blueprint reading.

  • Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Working and advanced knowledge of various inspection methods, manual and automated inspection and measurement equipment

  • Computer skills such asMicrosoft Word,PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • AS9102 First Article Inspection experience preferred.

As a Senior Receiving Inspector, you will:

  • You are considered to be a subject matter expert in the area of inspection methods, manual and automated inspection equipment (CMM, Romer Arm etc.) with advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments such as comparators, micro-hite and height masters, dial and digital bore gages, sine and compound angle plates, surface analyzers, micrometers, microscopes, gage blocks, dial indicators and CMM as required to verify compliance on dimensions, angles, radii, contours, holes, surface finishes, concentricity, hardness, material and plating. Work involves simple to complex setups on surface plates using height gauges, gage blocks, sine-plates, and indicators.

  • Develop and maintain a state of the art inspection facility and stay current on the latest technology and trends.

  • Provide technical inspection support and training in other departments within the site Quality Control functions.

  • Lead or support supplier related activities including measurement correlation, source inspection, etc.

  • Support and perform inspection of purchase parts and outside special processing and machining.

  • Improve inspection efficiencies by defining and/or improving inspection techniques.

  • Collaborate with program Quality Engineers to optimize inspection plans.

  • Ensure that the department possesses the measurement tools and equipment needed to support the inspection of purchased parts received.

  • Assist in developing employees by providing training for new and current inspectors on department processes, standard work, and measurement techniques and setups.

  • Identify and initiate process improvements and Lean activities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency.

  • Lead and/or support internal and external customer and government audit activities.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
