Responsibilities

MTSI is seeking a senior software engineer with 10+ years of modeling and simulation (M&S) software development experience. The person in this role will build applications and scenarios for modeling sensors, weapon systems, and mission CONOPS and TTPs. They will also perform data acquisition, execute runs for record, and author reports and briefings to convey analysis results to government customers.


Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or and engineering discipline.

Required Clearance:

Must have an Active Secret Clearance.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience supporting M&S of system and subsystem component models such as sensors, weapons, comms, and/or threats
  • Candidate MUST possess software engineering skills and proven experience in:
    • Applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems.
    • Designing and implementing scalable, testable, efficient code using software development "best practices".
    • Performing software coding, debugging, maintenance, analysis, and user support for C/C++, Python, and other programming languages.Evaluating existing application programs and functions and providing suggested improvements.
    • Maintaining, expanding, and modifying existing software applications and functions.
    • Assuming a leadership role during system requirements reviews, design reviews, and other types of technical meetings.
    • Assisting in planning for future applications based on new developments in computer technology.
    • Authoring various types of project documentation.
    • Mentoring and providing advice to less experienced staff members.
    • Ideal candidate will also have the following skills:
  • Knowledge of multi-domain physics concepts (e.g., aerodynamics, astrodynamics, electromagnetics).
  • Ability to perform analysis to measure key system performance metrics and verify model behavior utilizing flight test data.
  • Experience developing briefings and presenting analysis results to high-level government customers to help them in their decision-making processe

Highly Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the AFSIM simulation framework.
  • Knowledge and experience with high-fidelity model development and associated tools.
  • Master of Science degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, etc.).
