Director of Educational Outreach Center

The University Educational Outreach Center (EOC) is dedicated to building more equitable pathways for all students to gain the potential to enroll at the University of Pittsburgh or other selective colleges and universities. The center maintains an infrastructure that operationalizes collaborations and leverages the assets of the University and external communities to enhance college admissions from matriculation through graduation for underserved and underrepresented students. This includes:
* Effectively growing and strengthening the University's network among elementary, middle school and high school educators;
*Developing and implementing outreach and engagement strategies to reach constituents that are currently underserved and underrepresented at the University; and
*Helping to advance Pitt's mission of forging a larger community of diverse scholars for the 21st Century.
The EOC Director oversees strategic planning, fundraising, assessment, and management of community- and student-focused programs for the center.
Master's degree preferred.

Job Summary

Oversees strategic planning, assessment, and management of community- and student-focused programs. Leads team and serves as liaison between internal and external stakeholders. Identifies funding sources and prepares grant proposals. Develops program materials and oversees engagement and outreach efforts. Manages budgets and performs related financial duties.


Essential Functions

The Director should be collaborative and experienced in management and operations, outreach and engagement, fundraising, assessment, data collection, reporting and analysis. Leads a dynamic and visionary team and serves as liaison between internal and external stakeholders. Identifies funding sources and prepares grant proposals. Develops program materials and oversees engagement and outreach efforts. Manages budgets and performs related financial duties. Must demonstrate proven leadership experience working with diverse communities of learners and engaging students and teachers in K-12 educational environments. Works collaboratively and with cultural humility across units, departments, programs, with leadership, and within the region. Builds and maintains institutional bridges across the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid and the Student Success Hub to recruit, matriculate, and support students transitioning into the University. Reports to the Associate Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence in Education.
