Key Responsibilities



  1. Metals Analysis:


    • Perform metals testing using ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and CVAAS, following EPA methods 200.8, 200.7, 6010, and 6020.
    • Ensure all results meet TNI accreditation standards.


  2. Instrument Maintenance and Troubleshooting:


    • Calibrate, optimize, and maintain laboratory instruments for maximum efficiency.
    • Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.


  3. Data Analysis and Reporting:


    • Interpret analytical data with precision.
    • Prepare clear, detailed reports for clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.


  4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:


    • Implement QA/QC protocols to ensure compliance with TNI accreditation standards and EPA regulations.
    • Perform method validation and verification as needed.


  5. Team Leadership:


    • Train and mentor junior analysts, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
    • Collaborate with staff and management to achieve production goals.


  6. Method Development:


    • Refine and optimize metals analysis methods to enhance laboratory efficiency and reliability.



Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 24 chemistry credit hours required.


Experience:



  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in metals analysis (1 year with a Master's degree).
  • Proficiency with ICP, ICP-MS, and CVAAS instrumentation.


Technical Knowledge:



  • Familiarity with EPA methods for metals analysis.
  • Strong understanding of TNI accreditation standards.


Skills:



  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
