Job Purpose

The Onboarding and Manpower Sr Specialist is responsible for developing, directing, managing, evaluating, and overseeing activities and services associated with onboarding new associates to our center, building a robust and engaging program. Role includes the establishment of manpower and onboarding strategies through understanding the center's resource requirements including diversity targets, succession planning and career mapping.

The role will represent Honda and Purchasing and Supply Chain Center (PSCC) in relevant networks, forums, and events related to new hire orientation/onboarding. Consider input for key stakeholders, propose the best direction considering target requirements and ensure program goals align with organizational direction, performing PDCA (plan, do, check, and action) where applicable. Effectively manage team level projects, reporting plan vs actual.

Key Accountabilities

  • Study, develop and execute PSCC Center manpower allocation vision/needs with department leaders to meet manpower requirements, including MyHR updates, PRF's, PAF's, interviews, and tracking of candidates. Track metrics (i.e attrition) and report plan vs actual
  • Develop, manage, oversee, coordinate and implement all onboarding (orientation) activities for new hires/transfers and collaboration with internal stakeholders. Determine proper information provided to associates and delegate touchpoints to PSCC leadership.
  • Develop, prepare, and report Org Charts for PSCC depts monthly and changepoint communication for center on all manpower. Study, design, create and implement PSCC manpower dashboard
  • Cultivate and develop relations with TA, HR and industry partners and facilitate engagement to bring strong talent to Honda. Track all activity and report plan vs actual along with PDCA opportunities
  • Strategic planning and creation of marketing material for PSCC that attracts candidates to career opportunities, collaboration with Talent Acquisitions. Lead, communicate and represent PSCC in relevant networks, forums, and events relate to new hire onboarding.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Mgmt, Human Resources, OPS Management, Supply Chain or relevant experience


Minimum Experience:



  • 3-5 years experience


Other Job-Specific Skills:



  • Requires strong project management skills
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, exceptional planning and organization skills
  • Ability to create and give large-group presentations using power point,
  • Must be self-motivated with strong communication skills and continuous improvement mindset. Experience with Handshake is a plus.
  • Strong product and department knowledge, as well as HDMA business and department role and functions.

Decisions Expected

  • Identify and develop center onboarding strategy and collaborate daily on strategy consensus with internal and external shareholders (i.e Talent Acquisition and HR). PDCA of Classroom instruction, recognizing gaps and opportunities
  • Manage manpower movement within center and MyHR, Business Planning strategies for Associate Development
  • Execution of facilitating appropriate stakeholders in interviews and candidate selection for center
  • Research best practices to engage with strategic partnerships and other industries that align with Honda hiring criteria and onboarding processes.
  • Pinpoint and collect marketing content along with developing alignment with hiring programs to attract top candidates
  • Lead engagement strategy recommendations to support target achievement through logic
  • Initiate continuous improvement decisions that impact the organization and support lean principles
  • SAP (Specific Action Plan) creation for overall activity

Working Conditions

  • Willingness to travel due to Industry Engagements (i.e SWE,SHPE, etc) (10%)
  • Some overtime may be required due cyclical business needs
  • Open office environment with moderate level of noise an activity
  • Hybrid work style (60% in office/40% remote)
  • Regular occurrence of communicating and presenting information in group for evaluation purposes
