Sourcing Indirect Category Manager - Logistics

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Global Sourcing Logistics Buyer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of logistics services on a global scale, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills and a deep understanding of international logistics and supply chain management.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:

Category Management:



  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for logistics services to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including supply chain, operations, and finance, to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Manage logistics budgets and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including customs and import/export requirements.
  • Resolve any issues related to logistics and supply chain disruptions in a timely and effective manner.



Relationship Management:




  • Responsible for managing the internal and external relationships associated with assigned Category(s). This includes:
  • Ownership - Own the commercial relationship with the Supplier
  • Involvement - Work cross functionally with Operations Management to develop best practices and early involvement with logistics sourcing projects
  • Collaborate - Participate in cross functional events to express the best interest of all Operations functions.
  • Accountable - Responsible for owning and enforcing the terms and conditions of the supplier contracts.


Estimated Salary: $89,000-$126,000

What you'll need:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain experience.
  • Strong math, business analytical, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize critical activities independently in a fast-paced continuously changing environment.
  • Leadership Presence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs is required (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Project, etc.).
  • Ability to lead a cross functional team, strong communication and relationship building skills required.
