National Grid is seeking a Analyst to support the Grid Modernization Execution team within NE Electric Project Management and Construction, for our Northborough,Worcester, Brockton or Waltham, Massachusetts locations.This is a hybrid role with a 50% in the office requirement.

Job Purpose

The Analyst within Grid Modernization Execution is responsible for supporting the operational efficiency and excellence for our portfolios of work within the Electric Business Unit. Grid Modernization is a set of initiatives across our Electric Business that enable the future of the electric system to better integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and enable consumer interaction while driving efficiency, reliability, and safety. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for supporting that Grid Modernization projects to ensure they are developed and executed in a cost-effective and purposeful manner.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, Business Object reports and SAP queries
  • Assist in project closeout and compliance
  • Develop reports to communicate portfolio progress and key milestones
  • Analyze cash spending, trends, and variances to authorized and predicted values
  • Assist in development of spend timelines for projects and programs
  • Coordinate project schedules and perform other interfaces with stakeholders as required
  • Effectively support Project Managers and any process improvement initiatives as required
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex business and technical matters effectively at all levels.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in a Business-related area and up to 2-5 years of analytical, business support or project management support experience, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytical skills, using systems including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus. Experience with Business Objects, Primavera P6, and PowerPlan is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of budgets, project schedules, project estimating and construction resourcing
  • Ability to research, compile, schedule, review, document, organize, verify data, conduct independent analysis, and identify inconsistencies
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills with the proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to understand multiple relationships between different sources of data to generate easy-to-interpret reports and perform root cause analysis
  • Demonstrate drive to succeed independently as well as in a team-based environment
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable as priorities change
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles preferred

Salary: $81,000 - $95,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
