What you'll do

Docusign's Cloud Automation team is looking for an enthusiastic, self-starting, versatile Sr. Cloud Software Engineer to join our growing team in supporting Docusign's multi-Cloud platforms. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing enterprise cloud environments, with a deep understanding of cloud fundamentals to ensure high availability and reliability. They excel in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices, are skilled in implementing robust security controls, and have expertise in monitoring and maintaining the health of complex cloud ecosystems.

To be successful in this role, the candidate must embrace DevOps/GitOps practices and have a deep passion for automation. We are looking for someone who can help us optimize multiple Azure tenants as part of a multi-year migration from on-prem. An ideal candidate is highly motivated and able to lead project initiatives with minimal guidance from lead engineers.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Cloud Automation.

Responsibility

  • Plan and implement system and network architectures

  • Write Infrastructure-as-Code automation to manage and deploy infrastructure in the cloud using technologies such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, AZCLI, Python, Ansible and PowerShell

  • Work with engineers to understand and provide guidance around hosting, security, performance, and deployment requirements

  • Perform proactive and reactive vulnerability remediations and work with security teams to further Docusign's security posture in Azure

  • Review resource utilizations and perform optimizations to keep environment running healthy

  • Perform proactive and reactive vulnerability remediations

  • Manage Azure Compute resources with high availability across multiple zones and regions

  • Deploy Azure networking resources such as Load Balancers, Application Gateways, Virtual Networks, UDRs, and more

  • Monitor services and instrument telemetry where needed

  • Provide off-hours production support as required

  • Assist with DevOps related tasks such as enhancements to CI/CD pipelines

  • Support Kubernetes environments and help migrate legacy solutions to containers


Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience performing System Engineering related responsibilities
  • 5+ years of experience in advanced scripting and automation
  • 5+ years of experience managing resources in a cloud-based server environment
  • 3+ years of experience implementing and managing IaC solutions

Preferred

  • Azure Certifications (AZ-104) and Terraform Certification (Terraform Associate)
  • Expertise in scripting using bash, PowerShell, Ansible and/or Python
  • Strong understanding of networking and troubleshooting through various OSI layers
  • Experience with AWS and GCP
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of how to work incidents to resolution with minimal impact along with automating self-healing solutions and driving RCA's
  • Knowledge of various incident management processes
  • Experience with monitoring and telemetry software such as Grafana, and Prometheus
  • Strong people skills, team orientation and a professional yet fun attitude, with a willingness to mentor less senior engineers
  • Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions
  • Familiarity with constructing and managing immutable infrastructure
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced and dynamic business environment

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $151,800.00 - $245,150.00 base salary

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $145,800.00 - $214,350.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
