Scope of Work: The Cost Accountant will be responsible for preparing and recording journal entries for month-end close, as well as balancing and analyzing general ledger accounts for US and Canada business. Additional duties include researching variances between budget and actual for sale and gross profit accounts, reviewing book inventory reports, and preparing monthly key schedules. This position will have primary responsibility for Canada and Memorial Machine analysis. Position will work closely with the Assistant Controller to develop operating reports to support the needs of the business units. This position will also cross train on all positions in Inventory Control to assist as needed. This position will have a requirement of 25%-30% travel. This position will travel on average 1 week per month. Primary Job Responsibilities: The Cost Accountant is responsible and accountable for, but not limited to, the following:
