Product Manager - Surgical Pain, North America The Role The Product Manager will manage the Surgical Pain Needles, Kits and Trays and IV Infusion product portfolios. This includes developing and executing the North American marketing plan, coordinating cross functional activity and projects, and growing profitable topline sales to achieve business unit financial goals. This role reports to the Associate Marketing Director, North America Surgical Pain. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute effective plans and programs for product platform, both strategic and tactical, to ensure achievement of top line sales growth and gross margin targets.
Maintain full P&L management responsibility for product portfolios.
Develop long-term strategic business plans and marketing plans for product portfolio segments.
Develop pricing strategies that support the growth and profitability of the business.
Manages activities with members of various departments to implement the marketing plan (includes sales, operations, research and development, regulatory, quality assurance).
Collaborate with Sales, Planning and Finance teams to develop timely and accurate forecasts to ensure required fill rates on existing and new products, while supporting sector goals to improve return on working capital.
Work closely with sales team to develop a financial and demand forecast with a high degree of accuracy.
Support in the development of GPO/ IDN strategies to grow and maintain the business.
Constantly evaluate product mix to reduce redundancy and drive strategic objectives for the category.
Establish a clear leadership position in key market segments by demonstrating an end user focus, staying close to customers, gaining customer insights, and establishing relationships with industry KOLs.
Coordinates participation at tradeshows, workshops, meetings with surgeons and hospitals, sales meetings and participates as required.
Responsible for launching new products including the development of branding, pricing, positioning, messaging, marketing campaigns, training, and forecasts.
Support and guide development and execution of tools and training to improve and maintain salesforce competency to drive new product sales and provide superior customer service.
Provide effective communication with sales team, as well as cross-functional teams, to help ensure collaboration and understanding of the business.
Actively seek and positively respond to performance and personal development feedback, while initiating activities to enhance personal functional effectiveness to realize full career potential.
Develop, analyze and maintain competitive profiles for products and companies including literature resources.
Develop and manage relationships with industry KOLs.
This is an on-site position located in Alpharetta/Metro Atlanta area.
Your qualifications Required:
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Minimum of 4 years of product management and marketing experience in the medical device industry is required
Broad-based knowledge in medical device product management, strategy development, category financials, Voice of Customer process and working with clinicians
Key experiences required include working knowledge of the key items on the P&L, knowledge of customers, markets and competitors, knowledge of the working relationships with other functions, knowledge of all aspects of branding and product line management, and product launch or product improvement experience, and execution of a marketing plan for a major product platform.
Experience building relationships with key customers and cross-functional partners
Sales experience a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred:
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Product management experience within orthopedics or pain management
Experience driving direct-to-physician marketing initiatives
