The PACCAR Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn about PACCAR through a work assignment in the Global Engine team. Each intern will be integrated into division and department meetings, activities and events to ensure an understanding of PACCAR and our truck brands Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF. The Paccar Technical Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the development and validation of emerging technologies such as vehicle electrification and autonomous driving systems. The Paccar Technical Center is located in scenic Mt. Vernon, Washington north of Seattle and south of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

The PACCAR Technical Center is looking for an engineering intern to work in the OBD Development Group. The engineering intern will perform the following roles:

  • MATLAB script development to create automated reports for High Mileage Accumulation test fleet
  • Develop Simulink simulation tool for simulating OBD algorithm output
  • Conduct vehicle and test cell test to validate simulation tool development
  • Test engineering support for Climatic Chassis Dyno meter and Portable Chassis Dyno
  • Conduct vehicle testing to understand influence of vehicle configuration on diagnostic outcome and execution rate
Qualifications
  • Junior or higher standing toward an engineering degree
  • Fundamental knowledge of mechanics of materials and fluid dynamics
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills required
  • Technical writing experience preferred

Graduate Students: $30.00/hour
