The Department of Neurology is seeking a Research Technologist for the Cutaneous Nerve Laboratory. The Cutaneous Nerve Laboratory is a dynamic 15-member lab that works collaboratively to study nerve fibers in the skin. We deal with clinical samples, clinical research projects, animal model-based research and serve as a core laboratory for world-wide clinical trials. Under the general supervision of a faculty investigator or laboratory supervisor the Research Technologist is responsible for performing routine analyses and tests on human skin tissue. Work requires basic use of scientific methods, standard operating procedures and techniques gained through training and experience. Uses basic understanding of theory behind experiments and applies basic analytical skills to implement assigned projects, and to identify and trouble-shoot situations needing special attention.
