A Brief Overview
The Sports Medicine Engagement & Outreach Athletic Trainer Liaison (ATC) is an integral member of the larger Clinical Engagement and Outreach of Center of Orthopedics. The position is responsible for the growth and nurturing of strategic relationships that support the CHOP Enterprise and Center of Orthopedics Sports Medicine growth strategies. ATC is responsible for cultivating relationships with potential referring clinicians, healthcare entities, high schools, colleges, athletic clubs and/or sporting events to promote and facilitate business development which includes one on one engagement, educational activities, conferences, etc. This position works collaboratively with teams at CHOP to support and facilitate customer service and with referring clinicians, schools, clubs, patients, and families. The job requires travel within an assigned geographic area and is expected to travel 50-75% of the time.

What you will do
  • Participate in sports community engagement and outreach activities of a defined geographic area and/or clinical area of focus.
  • Builds and maintains high touch relationships with prioritized referring sources in an assigned geographic territory to promote CHOP's clinical and research programs and facilitate ease of access.
  • Accurately accounts for all activities in requisite data bases in a timely way to ensure ability to measure effectiveness.
  • Ensures efforts to improve connections and ease of access with external client leaders, providers, patients, and families for assigned geographic area.
  • Maximizes opportunities to share marketing and outreach materials such as newsletters.
  • Develop, implement & maintain a marketing outreach strategy for schools and athletic clubs.
  • Effectively collaborates with teams in Ortho ensuring up to date knowledge of clinical and research activities.
  • Serves as relationship builder and promoter of new sports medicine clinicians and programs within Ortho with the clinicians in the region.
  • Ensures effective relationship and communication with key stakeholders in strategy, marketing and clinical leadership and external partners relative to geographic and clinical priorities.
  • Staffs at local, regional, and national conferences for the geographic region as needed.
  • Develops, plans, and implements educational opportunities.
  • Collaborates with CME as needed to offer CEUs to athletic trainers.
  • Ensures compliance with legal, regulatory and CHOP Standards for self and direct reports
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Athletic Training Required
Experience Qualifications
  • At least two (2) years Athletic Trainer experience. Required
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Required proficiency)
  • Virtual Platform set up/navigation/troubleshooting (Preferred proficiency)
  • Salesforce/Health Cloud experience (Preferred proficiency)
  • Understanding of systems, reporting on metrics, and assessing data to determine ROI (Preferred proficiency)
  • EPIC knowledge (Preferred proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Athletic Trainer Board Certification (NATA BOC) - National Athletic Trainers Association - upon hire - Required and
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
