About the Role

The Project Manager, Strategic Projects role will initially coordinate the continued development of Business Continuity plans, processes, and controls through-out Matson and the testing of those plans, processes, and controls, with a goal to largely transition sustainment of the program to the respective business owners. After reaching the point of program sustainment, the role will continue to monitor Business Continuity activities but will also begin to focus on other special corporate projects.

What you'll do:

  • Coordinate activities with various internal organizations to facilitate the ongoing development of business continuity& crisis management plans, processes, and controls and ensure that those plans, processes, and controls are regularly practiced, tested, and updated.
  • Develop project plans, define project scope, identify project risks.
  • Facilitate the identification of the tasks required and ensure each task has an owner and measurable deliverable.
  • Lead teams on projects, coordinating people, processes, and resources with a goal to exceed expectations.
  • Monitor project progress, set deadlines and coordinate management reporting (Key Project Objectives) from all areas to ensure effective and efficient information communication during the project and to ensure timely achievement of project goals.
  • Managing project budgets, ensuring projects remain within budget.
  • Manage documentation and facilitation of periodic meetings for Annual Matson Key Objectives and coordinate quarterly status updates.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate complex information.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain constructive and effective relationships with personnel at all levels within the organization.
  • Understanding of transportation industry as well as budgeting and business planning processes and systems.
  • Business operations management skills.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including ability to prioritize work across multiple business objectives and meet deadline.

And these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in project management

Extra credit if you have:

  • Experience with Business Continuity Management risk management framework (Preferred)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (Preferred)

The annual salary range is posted for this position in California is $96,000 - $130,560. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
