Equipment Installation/Space Modification Project Manager

Equipment Installation and Space Modification Project Manager, Responsible for the planning, design review, cost estimate validation, scheduling, coordination, and execution of space utilization/modification and equipment installation projects. The PM will be involved in preparation of project scopes of work and rough cost estimates and provide technical review of construction contractor and equipment vendor proposal. Coordinate with equipment vendors, contractors, end users, and other stakeholders to identify the space modifications and equipment installation requirements for proper installation and operation of the equipment. The PM develops plans for tenant relocations due to space changes or facility improvements and manages updates to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton (NHCP) space utilization and facilities floor plans.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Estimated Starting Salary Range for Equipment Installation/Space Modification Project Manager: $135-155K.
  • Pay commensurate with experience.
  • Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Position Requirements:

* Must have construction management experience working in military or civilian hospitals directly interfacing with clinical departments.

* Knowledge and experience in medical equipment installations in healthcare facility settings.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Excellent personal computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Internet, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Ability to read AutoCAD drawings.

* Computer Aided Facility Management software experience or ability to learn within 6 months of being hired, including DMLSS.

* Ability to effectively work with military and civilian personnel of all rank, skill, and experience.

* Ability to write scopes of work and prepare basic cost estimates in accordance with accepted engineering standards.

* Knowledge of all pertinent environmental and safety regulations.

* Ability to track and execute multiple projects.

* Knowledge of pertinent design, construction, and maintenance standards for hospital work, including AHA, AIA, ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, UBC, UFC, Infection Control, The Joint Commission, etc.

* General knowledge of hospital janitorial and grounds maintenance principles, including infection control, weed control, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

* Knowledge of basic contracting methods and contract law.

* Knowledge of hospital accreditation as related to facility management.

* Knowledge and understanding of hospital related building and engineering systems.

* Understanding of Navy medical mission and an understanding of the operational role of the hospital facility plant.

* Understanding of DHA Facilities Enterprise works processes, including real property maintenance system and shore facility planning system.

* Comprehensive practical knowledge of mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering principles.

* Knowledge of the processes associated with the planning, design, budgeting, funding, and execution of a health care facility construction project.

Equipment Installation/Space Modification Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Minimum of an Associate in, Engineering or Construction Management/Construction Technology required.
  • 5 years of experience in managing facility construction projects.
  • The Project Manager should have knowledge of computer-based data and project management system (DMLSS) and be familiar with MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Common Access Card (CAC) and Installation and system access.
  • Experience with medical equipment installations in healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in reading AutoCAD drawings.
  • Familiarity with Computer Aided Facility Management software (DMLSS) or ability to learn within 6 months.
  • Ability to work with military and civilian personnel at all levels.
  • Skills in writing scopes of work and preparing cost estimates per engineering standards.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of hospital design, construction, and maintenance standards (e.g., AHA, AIA, NFPA).
  • General knowledge of hospital maintenance principles and infection control.
  • Understanding of basic contracting methods, contract law, and hospital accreditation.
  • Knowledge of hospital building and engineering systems, and the Navy medical mission.
  • Familiarity with DHA Facilities Enterprise processes and health care facility project management.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
