What You'll Do: Promote Safety. Take an active role prioritizing safety for yourself and others to ensure all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in total compliance with all Vulcan policies and procedures. Maintain Compliance. Build a strong safety culture to ensure the plant is in compliance with Vulcan's safety, operations, and environmental policies and procedures. Manage the health and safety of employees to continuously improve the Vulcan's health & safety performance. Determine Work Procedure. Determine work procedures, complete assigned tasks and delegate duties to personnel concerned with equipment. Cost Control: Continuously evaluates the performance and the effectiveness of the crew to look for opportunities for improvement. This Supervisor should implement improvements within his/her scope of authority as soon as possible. Improvements requiring management approval should be presented to the Manager with sufficient detail to justify cost. Cross functional Communication: Works with sales in addressing customer relations and customer service requirements to ensure Operations meets or exceeds customer expectations. Manage Employee Relations. Provide strong leadership, training, team building and supervision to all employees at the plant in order to support the operational function of the business. Work cross-functionally with HR to recruit new employees, perform disciplinary actions, and evaluate the performance of employees in order to develop talent. Additional Responsibilities. Skills You'll Need: Experience. High School Diploma is required. BS/BA or equivalent combination of training and work experience is preferred. 5+ years' experience in the industry (aggregates, Truck, rail & barge transportation). Technology Skills. Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must have the ability to learn and use other software and office equipment as needed to perform job requirements. Interpersonal Skills. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner and work with all organizational levels within the company, as well as customers/individuals outside of the company. Organizational Skills. Must have strong organizational and time management skills. Must have the ability to perform tasks accurately, consistently, and thoroughly. Must have the ability to complete projects without direct supervision and work under pressure to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of skill and accuracy. Problem Solving Skills. The base salary range for this role is between $78,708 - $113,748 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
