SUMMARY

Responsible for proper setup of dies and equipment necessary to produce a quality part. After the production run, remove the die and equipment and place it in the proper locations.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Based on the press schedule, get the next die from its storage location and bring it to the press.

2. Obtain a press setup sheet and quality section for the job being set and bring to the press.

3. Clean press bolster and ram prior to setting a die.

4. Clean both upper and lower die parallels.

5. Set die on press bolster in proper location per setup instructions and bolt into place.

6. If applicable, setup all HMS transfer system items.

7. Per setup instructions, bring the proper conveyors to the press and setup as required.

8. Un-bolt dies after production run, ensure scrap is removed from the die and place it in the proper location.

9. If applicable, unhook transfer system items and place them in the proper storage locations.

10. Clean excess puddling of oil off the die racks and the floor under the die racks.

11. Ensure that the scrap is not on the bolster tracks prior to moving the rolling bolsters.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School Diploma or GED required. Must possess and maintain current forklift operator license. Must have thorough knowledge of progressive and automated transfer stamping press operations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required. A good working knowledge of stamping operations is necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to understand basic math.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to determine what to do if something with the die or setup appears incorrect.

The physical demands of this job include walking, sitting, standing, bending, squatting, twisting and climbing throughout the day. Lifting of up to 40lbs is often required. May be required to push scrap with a resistance up to 40 pounds as well.

While performing this job, the use of personal protective equipment is required. This may include safety glasses with side shields, gloves, arm guards and hearing protection.

Environment is that of a "typical" manufacturing facility where noise levels from stamping presses can be excessive. Regular exposure to the elements is expected, cold in the winter and heat in the summer.
