Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Tactical Radio Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer within the Scottsdale-based Land and Air Systems Engineering team. This position provides an opportunity to design and build uniquely resilient tactical radios to ensure mission success in contested environments. The team is focused on tactical communications that span many Department of Defense customers, including special restricted customers. In a collaborative environment, the team works closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions

What you bring to the table:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with emphasis in Digital Signal Processing, Communication Theory, Wireless Communications
  • Proficient in signal processing algorithm development in MATLAB
  • Performance evaluation of signal processing solutions
  • Strong understanding of C/C++ software development in Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Experience with MPSoC development
  • Conceptualize, design and model world class signal processing algorithms for complex integrated HW/SW systems

Optional experiences you might to the table:

  • Proficient in signal processing algorithm development in Python
  • Experience implementing signal processing algorithms in GPUs
  • Experience implementing signal processing algorithms in FPGAs
  • Strong understanding of software development tools such as integrated development environments (IDE) as well as version control systems and defect reporting tools
  • Experience with Agile software implementation

Target salary range: USD $135,774.80/Yr. - USD $150,625.20/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
