The ideal candidate will have experience in web development, content management, and an understanding of DoD compliance requirements and security protocols. This role requires both technical proficiency and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and accessible manner for diverse audiences.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in advanced web content management and development within DoD, federal, or similar environments.
- Web Technologies: Proficiency in front-end web development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular.
- Content Management Systems (CMS): Experience with popular CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or custom DoD CMS solutions).
- Security Practices: Knowledge of secure web development practices, including content encryption, HTTPS protocols, and data protection measures.
- Cloud & Hosting: Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or DoD-specific cloud environments) for hosting and scaling web applications.
- Web Performance & SEO: Knowledge of web optimization techniques, performance testing, and SEO best practices.
- Microsoft Office & Documentation Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), along with tools for web content documentation (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).
- Familiarity with DoD security standards (FISMA, NIST 800-53, etc.), as well as federal regulations related to content privacy and accessibility (e.g., Section 508).
- Understanding of the implications of handling sensitive information and ensuring proper clearance protocols are followed for web content.
- Experience creating and working with responsive web design, ensuring content is accessible and optimized for various devices (mobile, desktop).
- Understanding of UX/UI principles to ensure that web content is intuitive, easy to navigate, and aligned with user needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accessible content.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and support the needs of non-technical stakeholders while maintaining technical accuracy.
- Develops and oversees website design, creation and ongoing maintenance. Will research, interview users, plan, develop, implement and test web systems
- Uses various web-enabling computer languages. Writes documentation to describe development, logic, coding, and corrections.
- Implements best practices, establishes standards and procedures, and ensures compliance standards.
