Short Intro and About the Job

Danone North America (DNA) is looking for a Decarbonization and Data Manager on the Packaging Research & Innovation team, for their North American based Division, to be located in either Louisville, Colorado or White Plains, New York.

Sustainability is embedded in Danone's company mission, our 2030 Danone Impact Journey targets, and our global packaging sustainability strategy. As the Decarbonization and Data Manager, you will play a key role in driving this strategy through analyzing packaging data to create insights to help Danone achieve its sustainability goals and make informed decisions about future packaging choices. You will build, deploy, maintain and improve systems to measure and manage the environmental impacts associated with our packaging for foods, beverages, and medical nutrition. Additionally, you will leverage existing and emerging digital tools, including AI, to provide quick and efficient access to sustainability data and insights to inform strategic execution of packaging transformation projects.

In this role, you will be part of the Packaging Research and Innovation team and will report to a Director, Packaging Sustainability.

Your main responsibilities:

Lead the integration of systems and tools to track packaging sustainability metrics across our DNA portfolio.
  • In partnership with third party consultants, you will collect, manage and submit packaging related data for state reporting (EPR and PCR mandates) voluntary reporting such as to the US Plastics Pact, customer reporting such as Walmart Gigaton, and internal global Danone Impact Journey reporting.
  • Conduct assessments related to EPR and ecomodulation.
  • Become a super user of our carbon footprinting tool and evaluate carbon footprints of potential new innovations.
  • Contribute towards corporate strategy regarding our Danone Impact Journey packaging goals and SBTi decarbonization commitments.
  • Support Brand teams and Business Units with needed data about packaging materials, recycled content, formats, recyclability, carbon footprint and other metrics.

As the Decarbonization and Data Manager, data management will be second nature to you. You can confidently use Microsoft Excel, pay great attention to detail, and are able to analyze, synthesize and interpret data into meaningful conclusions. Knowledge of PowerBI, and GenAI prompting (CoPilot 365) is a plus. You're a data savvy team player, who will collaborate with stakeholders on teams including Mission & Sustainability, Cycles & Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and associated global colleagues to realize our Danone Impact Journey goals in North America. You have enough knowledge and passion around packaging, sustainability and building a more circular economy to understand acronyms like PET, PP, HDPE, CAA, EPR, PCR, APR, TRP and SPC. On top of that? You are a great communicator and collaborator. You are the kind of person that gets excited that your work will positively improve the environmental impacts of many billions of packages per year.

The base compensation range for this position is $110,000-165,000 commensurate with experience. Danone North America additionally offers a performance-based bonus and has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options.
