Job Summary |
The Institutional Assessment Specialist assists with managing and analyzing data within the Oce of Institutional Success and Decision Support (
OISDS). This position will report to the Director of Administrative Assessment and Academic Support Assessment. |
Minimum Education and Experience |
BA/BS degree + 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. |
Preferred Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in a related field.
- One to three years of familiarity with degree program and non-academic assessment, as well as innovations in assessment in higher education.
- Two to four years' experience in data cleaning and analysis, including experience analyzing survey data.
- Experience with educational research, and research design.
- Experience with qualitative research and qualitative data analysis techniques.
- Experience with dashboards and data visualizations (Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with communicating about data to a variety of audiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- This position is a member of the OISDS team responsible for compiling and merging data from different sources, data cleaning, and data analysis to support the assessment of student learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness.
- Collaborates with OISDS peers and campus stakeholders on institutional assessment, program evaluation, and the analysis of university surveys.
- Assist with collecting survey, focus group, and interview data for the assessment and evaluation of institutional effectiveness, university programs, and student success initiatives.
- Contributes to University reports, presentations, and other communications, which includes the development of data visualizations and summaries of data associated with the assessment of institutional effectiveness and student outcomes.

Work Notice
This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, subject to manager approval. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days upon approval. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time. Individuals may be required to use personal computers and other standard office equipment in order to work remotely. The Institutional Assessment Specialist must be located within the
DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus within 24 hours of notice.
