What you'll do

The Platform Security Team within Security Assurance at Docusign is seeking a motivated and diligent Data Intern for the Summer of 2025. This internship will focus on the development of a Centralized Security Risk Score, aimed at unifying and normalizing data from various security tools to enhance decision-making and risk management across the organization. The intern will work closely with a dedicated mentor and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results that contribute to the overall security posture of Docusign.

The goal of this internship is that you will gain cross-domain security knowledge, enhancing your understanding of cloud, endpoint, DLP, and IoT security. You will develop skills in risk assessment modeling and scoring across different security domains, learn to create interactive dashboards and visualizations for executive reporting, and understand the importance of operational efficiency and proactive risk management in a corporate security environment. Overall, you will gain experience working in a collaborative team setting with mentorship from experienced engineers and other experts.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Platform Security.

Responsibility

  • Collect and consolidate relevant data from various security tools across cloud, endpoint, DLP, and IoT domains into a central data store
  • Design and implement a common schema to standardize data from various sources, ensuring consistent categorization of security risks
  • Develop algorithms to assess and prioritize risks based on severity, impact, and exploitability, while researching industry standard processes
  • Create an interactive dashboard to present the unified risk score and visualize security findings across all domains
  • Implement automated alerts and reporting mechanisms to notify the security team of critical risk thresholds and provide regular updates to leadership
  • Document processes for integrating additional security tools and provide user guides for future engineers and analysts

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, or a related field
  • Familiarity with data aggregation, manipulation, and normalization concepts
  • Basic understanding of or interest in security domains such as cloud and data security
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or similar for scripting and data manipulation
  • This role is not eligible for CPT, OPT or sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Currently pursuing an advanced Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, or a related field
  • Experience with security tools and platforms (e.g., Wiz, Cortex XDR, Defender)
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and scoring models
  • Familiarity with dashboard creation and data visualization tools
  • Experience with APIs and data integration techniques
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $38.00/hour - $40.00/hour
