Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate need for a Configuration/Change Manager in the San Antonio, Texas. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

HIGHLIGHTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS:

  • Understand and improve configuration management processes to ensure effective control and capture of configuration changes across the SCR lifecycle, from inception and approval through release and deployment to the enterprise system
  • Maintain accurate and compliant CMDB or PDM, reflecting "as-configured state" and historical configurations, including software and hardware deployed across the enterprise system.
  • Conduct baseline identification, change control, status accounting, and configuration reviews for all networks, functions, and systems.
  • Maintain change implementation plans, including validation steps, escalation plans, and rollback methods
  • Provide and execute comprehensive change, configuration, and release management processes
  • Oversee System Change Request (SCR) database and bi-weekly Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Manage SCRs through the entire change process.
  • Execute CCB meetings for reviewing change requests.
  • Administer program CCB and TRB meetings.
  • Ensure standardized methods, processes, and procedures for handling changes.
  • Deliver weekly status reports on planned/unplanned changes.
  • Inform program leadership of discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Recommend policy changes and establish procedures.
  • Advanced understanding of Software Configuration Management (SCM) builds, third-party software management, and PDM applications.
  • Proficiency in ITIL processes, and Agile SCRUM.
  • Confirm hardware and software procurement for installation.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Evaluate CM tools and recommend the best options.
  • ITIL Certification is desired
  • Agile SCRUM Master certification is desired
  • Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII) is desired


Target salary range: USD $135,774.80/Yr. - USD $146,912.60/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
