Overview

Southern Cancer Center is seeking a dedicated Nursing Supervisor to join our team at the Springhill Hospital location.

In this vital role, you will oversee all nursing functions and patient care activities, ensuring they are conducted within budgetary constraints. You will be responsible for adhering to both national and company standards, as well as specialty regulations, while supervising a team of nursing professionals who deliver exceptional care to our patients. A comprehensive approach to care that includes recognizing the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of our patients is essential.

Additionally, you will uphold and support the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Oversight

    • Oversee clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.
    • Establish and maintain nursing personnel files.
    • Ensure all licensing and certification criteria are met.
    • Assist with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Adequate Staffing/FTEs for Assigned Clinics

    • Maintain effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs within budgetary parameters.
    • Participate in the interviewing and recruiting of nursing personnel.
    • Perform tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary.
    • Demonstrate working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedule and coordinate employee staffing, including vacations, sick leave, and overtime.
  • Ensure Clinical Operations and Practice Consistent with Organizational Objectives

    • Monitor and evaluate patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
    • Direct the correct use of charge codes and coordinate staff education in correct procedures per reimbursement guidelines.
    • Develop new services and activities for patients, families, and staff in accordance with practice service objectives.
  • Staff Development

    • Implement staff retention and training programs with support from clinic leads.
    • Coordinate, implement, and assist with staff training, in-services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.
    • Assist with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
    • Serve as mentor/preceptor and provide day-to-day guidance to less experienced nurses.
  • Other Duties as Assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Education/Training - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current CPR certification required.

Business Experience - Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience. One-year leadership experience preferred Specialized Knowledge/Skills - Oncology certification preferred Chemotherapy Immunotherapy provider card preferred
