Senior Civil Engineer - HYBRID

As our new Senior Civil Engineer, you will be part of a highly skilled and experienced team of building design professionals who execute interesting and diverse projects in the municipal, industrial, institutional, and commercial sectors. Our team is at the forefront of helping clients achieve their built environment goals emphasizing sustainability concepts. You will have opportunities to collaborate with design and construction professionals in organizations in the Americas and globally including Environment & Health, Water, and Energy.

The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of site civil, site development, stormwater management, grading, parking, building arrangements, and underground utilities for our clients in heavy industrial, manufacturing, and chemical plant environments.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Manage and oversee site civil, site development, stormwater management, grading, parking, building arrangements, and underground utilities for heavy industrial, manufacturing, and chemical plant projects.
  • Develop and support preparation of construction plans, specifications, estimates and proposals.
  • Develop and/ or review staff calculations to support preparation of construction documents.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technical staff.
  • Communicate directly with external stakeholders (clients, vendors and contractors)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, geotechnical data and other information to plan projects of all levels of complexity and create design deliverables.
  • Review vendor drawings/submittals to confirm compliance with Contract Documents.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and project teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Delegates basic tasks to other team members.
  • Participates in the quality review process of work products developed by others and takes ownership of providing quality work to the lead engineer or project manager.
  • Coordinate work on multiple projects to maintain project objectives.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering fundamentals and proficiency utilizing relevant computer software packages and engineering and design equipment specific to the engineering discipline of expertise
  • Visit job sites to collect information and provide field support as necessary.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in site civil, site development, stormwater management, grading, parking, building arrangements, and underground utilities in heavy industrial, manufacturing, and chemical plant environments
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in relevant software and design tools
  • Proficient in MicroStation - Preferred
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D - Required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
