Summary The MIL Corporationis seeking aTechnical Deputy (Security Engineer, Director) to lead and manage the daily operations of a large team and oversee the operational planning, establishment, execution, and evaluation of a multi-faceted projects supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC).This facility supports the mission to provide realistic cybersecurity environments for test and evaluation of major DoD acquisition programs and to enable the conduct of realistic training and certification events for the DoD Cyber Mission Force. The NCRC facility may also support non-DoD customers such as Department of Homeland Security (DHS), industry, academia, and international partners.The successful candidate will serve at the Patuxent Naval Air Station, MD site. This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements. Responsibilities
- Collaborates on a daily basis with the Program Manager to ensure technical direction is aligned with cost/schedule/performance and the program is properly resourced.
- Provides technical leadership for day-to-day operations.
- Responsible for providing planning, direction, and coordination of all engineering efforts.
- Supports design reviews/test readiness events.
- Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies, design and analysis methodologies, and develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
- This position is responsible for technical performance, engineering costs and schedules.
- Ensures that the NCRC receives the required support services per the contract.
- Advises management and customers on operations and research studies and applications, including technology assessments, schedule, budget development to complete projects, and deliver results to customers.
- Advises the Event Directors and Event Designers on capabilities to meet test/training event requirements.
- Ensures new staff is on-track for training in the policies, practices, and procedures for holding events at the NCRC facility.
- Leads the NCRC planning sessions with users from across the programs.
- Leads the NCRC operations and planning including test design, development, delivery and recovery.
- Interfaces with government POCs to meet contract requirements.
- Coordinates with the Program Manager and Government POCs to forecast contractor team workload and needs in an environment of shifting priorities and changing workloads in managing and executing simultaneous event.
- Analyzes and provides recommendations to improve work processes.
- Compiles reports based on contractor's performance during specified and cumulative periods.
Travel 10% - 15% to other sites, as needed Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in a related field, leading and managing teams in a cyber setting
- Direct experience with software development and requirements management
- Proven experience leading teams to develop new and existing products, solutions, and processes
- Experience with project logistics by managing and balancing project resources across multiple competing priorities, including securing adequate resources needed for teams to meet schedule
- Ability to communicate effectively, accurately convey project status, and identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to express technical ideas to senior decision makers
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Experience working government programs with controlled engineering baselines
- Intermediate knowledge of cyber security, including common risks to IT systems
- Intermediate knowledge of enterprise IT concepts, architectures, and systems (compute, network, storage)
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree with a focus in computer science; or a focus in computer and information sciences, engineering, mathematics, management information systems, cybersecurity, or a related discipline with corresponding experience and demonstrated mastery of relevant computer science topics
- Advanced knowledge of IT Service Management best practices
- 20+ years of related, proven experience
- Certified as either Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience working in a fast-paced, highly visible environment

Salary at MIL isdetermined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $185,000 - $205,000 per year.
