System Administrator

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE TO BE CONSIDERED

Responsibilities:

The System Administrator will work with a team of Network Administrators and Communications Administrators to operate, maintain, and sustain the newly developed IPv6 network at the Western Launch Range located at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB), CA. The IPv6 network architecture includes transport equipment (routers, switches, microwave), Range Interface Units (RIUs), security and encryption devices, and Network Management System (NMS) and services (e.g., VMware Environment, Network Device Managers, Element Managers, Backup services, Authentication services, Software Update Service (SUS), Domain Name System (DNS)).

Specific responsibilities to include:

* Administer networks and related computing environments, including computer and network hardware, network services, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.

* Recommend changes to improve systems/system configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.

* Perform system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.

* Plan, coordinate, and implement system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.

* Plan, coordinate, and execute continuous monitoring to maintain system Authorization to Operate (ATO).

* Participate in cross-functional customer facing integrated product teams (IPTs).

* Support Program Manager in estimating, reporting, and planning system administration tasks.

* Participate in Risk Management Boards (RMB) and identify system administration risks.

* Support off-hour system monitoring and troubleshooting during Launch activities.

* Adhere to established policies and procedures pertaining to job site safety, security, and timekeeping.

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, Networking, Telecommunications, or related field. Four years of relevant experience may be substituted for a graduate degree.

* Experience in System Administration.

* Experience in system performanceanalysis and testing.

* Experience with VMware.

* Experience with system hardening to RMF specifications.

* Experience configuring and working with ACAS/Nessus, updating plugins, and executing scans.

* Experience managing McAfee Endpoint Security Solution suite for large environment.

* Experience performing vulnerability assessments and addressing vulnerabilities.

* Experience responding to Cybersecurity incidents.

* SECRET clearance.

* US Citizenship.

Desired:

* Experience maintaining and sustaining an IPv6 network

* Experience performing System Administration of a Government/DoD system

* Experience with accreditation and certification of a Government/DoD system

* Experience with LogRhythm configurations and audit log reviews.

* Experience managing SQL Databases and IIS

* Red Hat and Linux Experience

* Public Key Infrastructure knowledge

* Experience with relevant industry software products like MS Office, MS Project, MS SharePoint, etc.

* Experience working on Vandenberg Space Force Base

* Security+ certification

The proposed salary range for this position in California is $90,000 - $130,000. The final salary will be determined based on various factors.
