The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full time Financial Analyst for the Hematology division. The successful candidate will develop summary reports of the 340B Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) program budget and oversee/review accounts, reconcile budget information, and extract and analyze data to assist in the management of the 340B HTC Program. In addition, this position will review monthly revenues and expenditures in the 340B fund. The analyst will need to interact with the contract pharmacy (Pharmaquip) regarding activities of the related to 340B program and represent the program at institutional 340B meetings as necessary. The Financial Analyst performs financial activities for the 340B Program and serves as backup for Administrative Manager in her absence. The Financial Analyst will spend approximately 80% of their time on the 340B program and 20% of their time assisting the Division Manager and Director with divisional budgets. The main detailed responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to processing financial transactions for the HTC, preparing monthly financial reports and P&L statement for the director of pediatric hematology, completing annual HTC Program Income reports, interacting with the contract pharmacy and 340B experts within JHU and monitoring research projects funded through the 340B program, including processing SAP transactions associated with the 340B within all modules: AP, Supply Chain, Concur, HR/Payroll, Finance and Analysis. This position will report directly to the director of pediatric hematology. Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Director and Division Manager in managing the financial and administrative activities for the 340B HTC Program and Division of Pediatric Hematology.
- On a monthly basis, prepare and maintain reporting of 340B and Division accounts for the Director to provide updates on financial status of accounts. Oversee and review monthly financial data and analyze it to ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with University and/or agency regulations.
- Assist in preparation of 340B and Divisional budget development. Anticipate cost projections and ensure consistency with budget dollars. Provide detailed analysis of fiscal performance and related financial assumptions.
- Analyze budget patterns and project expenditures.
- Monitor expenditures throughout the budgetary period and identify and communicate expenditures to director.
- Coordinate and participate in the monthly 340B reporting meeting with Program Director, Nurse Coordinator, and liaison with external departments such as Johns Hopkins. Homecare (Pharmaquip) Pharmacy Director, Johns Hopkins Homecare Director of Inventory and Management, JHU 340B experts and Departmental of Pediatrics Budget Director, as necessary.
- Responsible for generation and distributing monthly reports and creation of new reports to improve monitoring of expenses within the 340B program and financial interactions with the contract pharmacy.
- Perform monthly budget reconciliation and cost projections.
- Initiate SAP transactions within all modules: AP, Supply Chain, HR/Payroll, Finance, and BW.
- Process check deposits to 340B Program.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of University Financial policies, practices and procedures.
- Ability to develop an understanding of 340B policies and regulations and assist with development of local policies. Technical assistance will be available to assist in this regard from experts in the area.
- Understanding of financial reporting, budget preparation and account reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills required.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, strong organizational ability, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of financial software applications and excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, Powerpoint), email, an internet.
- Demonstrate ability for self-direction and initiation, as well as ability to work independently and as part of a team, to address problems/tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
- Three years progressively responsible related financial/accounting experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of SAP highly desirable.
