Chemistry and Environmental Science

Reports To:
Assistant Professor Chemistry and Environmental Science

Position Type:
Staff

Position Summary:
This research position involves directing research projects on the
development and application of theories as well as computational codes and
software to study magnetic bi-stability in conjugated coordination polymers. It
will be extended to further development of in-house Crystal Structure Producer
Python package and expanding our EC-MOF Database. The project may be modified
within the limits of the objectives defined by the supporting grant or other funds.

Essential Functions:
The scholar is responsible for developing computational software
required for creating initial crystal structures and conducting
high-throughput DFT screening of new structures to identify magnetically
bi-stable and electrically conductive materials. It is also expected that the
scholar is actively engaged in analyzing data, writing the manuscripts and
presenting the results of this research project in scientific journals and
conferences.

Additional Functions:
Mentoring graduate students and helping the PI in writing grant
proposals.
