Job Summary:

The primary focus of this position is to administer and manage the global Product Environmental and Safety Compliance Program by planning, leading, and implementing various initiatives as advised by the VP Global EHS and Sustainability. This role requires technical/engineering expertise to interpret the requirements defined in global Substance/Materials and product Ecodesign laws, applying these to current product offerings, and resolving the impact on new product design andmaterials.

What you will do:



  • Developing and promoting the critical initiatives of the global Product Compliance Program in collaboration with Business unit product management and R&D, by leading and implementing projects on a global level, including:

    • Product Lifecycle Assessments, and Environmental Product Declarations including Product Carbon Footprint.
    • Product and Packaging ESG and compliance issues (PFAS. RoHS, REACH, TSCA, Prop-65 etc.) including related intake/inbox requests and compliance issues as they arise in policy and/or legislation.
    • Product testing program for product regulatory reporting and future marketing data
    • Product-related Scope 3 data collection and reporting
    • Completing and owning the product 'Ecolabeling' program.


  • Establishing and implementing a communication strategy with project partners.
  • Supporting the development of standards for the business units to align with global Ecodesign and materials/substances restriction laws.
  • Educating business functional teams including product management, engineering, and supply chain on ecodesign and material/substance restriction standards by developing and delivering training sessions, webinars, and in-person meetings.
  • Supporting the New Product and Solutions Development process and by working with businessengineering teams to support technical interpretation of the requirements
  • Proactively and independently resolving complex challenges where precedent may not exist.
  • Identifying and advancing strategic improvement opportunities and other tasks as assigned


What you will bring



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, college or high school diploma,GED with at least 10 years of experience in Engineering/Technology.
  • Have a minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Technical Regulations and Standards or minimum of 5 years of experience in design of electrical and electronic products.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience in Product Environmental Compliance and/or sustainability responsibility is a plus.
  • Strong global environmental legislation knowledge on substance restriction laws including global REACH, global RoHS, US TSCA, PFAS and other similar laws. Global product sustainability knowledge including development of LCAs/EPDs, product carbon footprints, green packaging initiatives and Ecodesign.
  • Strong product development or management experience, a proven understanding of supply chain procedures and practices, and understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess compliance implications
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills
  • Able to communicate optimally at all levels in the organization and multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, reliable and good attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, seek advice where vital and provide clear, concise mentorship to others
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Power Point, Word and Excel)
  • Process improvement leadership experience is a plus
  • Project management experience is a plus
