We Are Hiring:Operating Room Assistant - Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital- 1.0 FTE

At Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital we perform procedures including General/Vascular, Orthopedics, Urology, GYN and Ophthalmology. Our 8 operating rooms, freshly renovated in May 2020, include new system integration for more efficient flow during surgery.

As an Orthopedic Center of Excellence, we provide an array of orthopedic procedures including same day discharge procedures for total joints.

Schedule: 9:00 AM -5:30 PM, 11:00 AM-7:30 PM Mon-Friday, on-call requirements every 4th weekend and holidays

What You Will Do:

The Operating Room Assistant (ORA) will assist with patient transport, room preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized operating room environment. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and a focus on patient safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Transport: Safely transport patients to/from the OR and holding areas under RN direction.
  • Patient Positioning: Assist with lifting, positioning, and transferring patients.
  • Aseptic Technique: Follow aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Supply & Equipment Management: Assist in organizing supplies, restocking sterile items, and ensuring equipment availability.
  • Room Turnover: Contribute to efficient room turnover and cleaning between cases.
  • General Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in all assigned areas, following infection control guidelines.
  • Inventory & Ordering: Restock supplies, manage inventory, and communicate supply needs to central services.
  • Team Support: Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow.



What You Will Need:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous operating room support staff role or training as a nursing assistant or other patient contact role preferred

Surgical Services embraces a collaborative approach for treating a patient's injury or illness. Care is delivered by our skilled clinical team and integrated ancillary support team; which provides all levels of clinical assistance maintaining a high quality care and patient safety. The Surgical Services arena encompasses Orthopedics, General & Vascular, Gynecology, Podiatry, Urology, and Ophthalmology surgical procedures. The Day Surgery department is an outpatient surgical unit that provides care before and after surgery, heart catherization procedures, radiology procedures, and GI procedures. Although the majority of patients are discharged the day of their procedure, some are admitted to critical or acute care units. ProHealth Oconomowoc Memorial is certified by The Joint Commission as a Joint Replacement Center of Excellence. Offers the MAKOplasty and Anterior Hip Arthroplasty procedure to patients.
