Objective of Job:

Advise operational management on the subjects of industrial/occupational/ environmental safety/ fire protection as well as monitor and implement relevant measures and assure compliance.

Duties to include:



  • Provide technical orientation/training of associates.
  • Coordinate associates (e.g. personnel scheduling, etc.)/ supervise fire brigades company and support the activities related to a major emergency.
  • Represent the organization before government agencies, inspections and audits, as well as follow-up observations from these.
  • Coordinate and conduct environmental/ occupational/ health assessments and participate in audits of environmental management system.
  • Assure compliance with relevant laws and regulations (e.g. Job Safety Analysis, environmental impact aspects list
  • (SEAL), etc.) and handle legal issues related to industrial/ occupational safety.
  • Advise management in all industrial safety-relevant topics (e.g. planning and maintaining production facilities and equipment; procuring working equipment and introducing work processes; selecting personal protective equipment; setting up and evaluating workstations, the work process and work environment; checking the working equipment and technical working materials especially before startup, etc.).
  • Assure the implementation of industrial safety and accident prevention (e.g. walk through the work areas and report inadequacies, as well as suggest actions for their elimination; inspect work accidents; train safety personnel; cooperate in approval of "hazardous materials" and in creating instructions for their use, fire protection measures, etc.)
  • Create occupational health reports (e.g. accident reports, treatment protocols for patient records, etc.).
  • Inform patients about the possibilities of preventions and aftercare (e.g. referral to specialists, etc.).
  • Perform basic pre- and after-care checkups. OSHA, DHEC competence
  • Active participation in all company activities and programs (Quality, Ideas for Improvement, Training, Human
  • Resources, Security, Environmental Health and Safety, etc.) which apply according to the proper activities of the position.
  • Special Authorizations (e.g. powers of attorney, guidelines competence, authorities, information rights, references to legal or standards-relevant authorized representatives, etc.)
  • OSHA, DHEC competence
  • Any other duties as assigned.
