Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled BE/BC to join our Brooklyn region. This is a full-time opportunity. While the position entails the full range of general ophthalmology, a strong background in the evaluation and treatment of glaucoma is greatly preferred. The Ideal Candidate: * One to three years of ophthalmology clinical experience in an outpatient setting. * Ability to treat and diagnose a wide variety of ophthalmology conditions and improve patient outcomes. * Demonstrate competency in diagnosis and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained. * Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience. * Excellent communication skills. * Interest in Population Health Management Essential Duties and Responsibilities : * Review patient histories and reports. Perform physical examinations. * Record examination information; Maintain complete and accurate medical records. * Evaluate, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment and patient care. * Perform routine eye exams and treat eye diseases, such as macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma. * Diagnose and treat a wide variety of eye disorders. * Perform surgical procedures weekly. * Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans. * Recommend suitable management for the patient, including but not limited to, preventive health recommendations and habits. * Provide relationship-centered care, taking into account the patient's psychosocial and physical needs. * Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care. * Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
Qualifications: Education & Experience : * Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or foreign equivalent * Completion of three year post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in ophthalmology surgery. * Seeking both experienced - 2 years or above, and newly trained providers * Board Eligible/Board Certified in Ophthalmology * Must possess current, unrestricted New York State license or be eligible for licensure. * Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration. * Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll. * Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred. * Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written. * Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
