SSOE is seeking an entry level Chemical Engineer with interest in consulting which provides ever changing opportunities within various industries. The candidate will be exposed to P&ID's (process and instrumentation diagrams), line lists, pipe sizing, equipment selection, procurement and more. Responsibilities

A Typical Day Might Include:

The following duties are typical of the position but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

    Perform or assist with the development of PFDs and P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and procurement.
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and design teams to complete necessary project tasks.
  • Assist in the creation of bid packages.
  • Perform field work to support the above responsibilities.
  • Responsible for acceptance or rejection of major items involving materials, equipment, manufacturer's quality, and field construction.
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods and techniques on work of small projects or on portions of larger projects.
  • Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and assistance in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
  • Reviews work with supervisor to ensure the application of sound engineering practices and professional judgment.
  • May supervise, coordinate, and direct the work effort of designers on the same project with some responsibility for checking his/her portion of the completed drawings.
  • May write portions of specifications and assist in preparing cost estimates.
  • Leading engineering studies, write reports, and develop and complete engineering calculations.
  • Assignments are selected to develop professional work knowledge and abilities using prescribed methods and standard techniques.
  • Applies academic knowledge and training attained in the use of various building materials and building systems.
  • Performs a variety of routine engineering tasks requiring basic application of engineering fundamentals with increasing responsibility based on performance.
  • Works under close supervision; receives specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected with limited opportunity to exercise judgment.
  • Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings.
  • Develops basic knowledge of the discipline's code
  • Travel required.
  • Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.


Qualifications

Qualifications You'll Need on Day One:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
  • EIT preferred, with little or no practical working experience.
