Description of Job This Program Assistant-I (PA-I) position provides academic program and outreach support for EDS in pursuit of its contributions to the mission of the Colorado School of Mines. EDS programs include: the Design Engineering BS program, two Humanitarian Engineering undergraduate minors, the Cornerstone Design program as part of Mines' core curriculum serving all Mines undergraduate students, and the inter-departmental undergraduate Capstone Design and graduate Humanitarian Engineering and Science programs. EDS supports campus-wide innovation in engineering education and hands-on project work to achieve practical and direct social and community benefit. This position is responsible to support EDS's strategic outreach and stakeholder engagement, ensuring EDS programming and projects address the needs of Mines' diverse communities. This position is responsible to proactively identify these stakeholders, vet potential stakeholders recommended by faculty or colleagues, and manage on-going stakeholder relations to the mutual benefit of Mines and our collaborating communities. Reporting to the Department Head of EDS, the PA-I will support program operations across diverse undergraduate and graduate, departmental and interdepartmental, research and donor-supported programs and projects, including tracking and development of funded project deliverables, program graduate career opportunities, and department fund-raising initiatives. The position requires interpreting budget materials, guidelines, and processes to exercise discretion in budget decision-making; and performing other comparable tasks which require applying knowledge of and/or interpreting principles, practices, rules, regulations, policies, and other guidelines specific to the variety of our programs and relevant professional subject areas. Class Code & Classification Description: (New) H4R1XXPROGRAM ASSISTANT I MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience Only: Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position, including work in communications, managing and organizing information, must be able to manage competing priorities, have familiarity with marketing and outreach. OR Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years.
