What you will do as a Warehouse Assistant III:


  • Assumes authority over warehouse personnel actions and coordinates day to day tasks through effective communication and teamwork.



  • May perform the duties of Material Handler Warehouse I and II.



  • Relies on extensive experience to make sound decisions when faced with shipping and receiving challenges involving product delivery and pick-up.



  • Implements and oversees daily tasks of the warehouse personnel and ensures performance of tasks are completed in a timely and high-quality manner.



  • Provides team with guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed as scheduled; gets involved with open tasks when lacking resources to ensure meeting deadlines.



  • Ensures Customer product is properly received through monitoring movement and storage of unprocessed and processed product in a manner to permit accurate tracking and minimal product damage.



  • Ensures Customer product is properly shipped by monitoring product movement from storage through shipment in a manner that minimizes product damage and ensures accuracy of shipping documentation.



  • Maintains a safe, clean and secure working environment by enforcing adherence to all safety procedures, rules and regulations; advising management of unsafe work practices and/or conditions; supporting plant safety meetings that evaluate equipment and working conditions.





  • Ensures high-level of Customer service and satisfaction through professional and timely responses to internal and external Customer needs.



  • Promotes team culture through constant and effective cross departmental communication and interaction.



  • Oversees and leads all the activities of warehouse personnel and is actively engaged in all facets of warehouse operations.



  • Assists Supervisor/Manager with staff through coaching, counseling, motivating, and training as needed. Promotes teamwork through intra- and inter-department cooperation.



  • Monitors and assists with scheduling customers appointments within dock schedule. Regularly communicates with customers about inbound or outbound shipments



  • Assists in monitoring flow of deliveries and reports increases or decreases to forecasted volumes



  • Records and tracks incoming damages and may communicate with internal or external Customers about disposition of damages.



  • Participates in all safety related initiatives (Safety Committee, SEEing Safety Events, Safety Rounds, etc.) and promotes the actions/changes driven by these initiatives.



  • Ensures compliance with Corporate QSRC and GMP procedures by monitoring established programs; monitoring training requirements and conducting in depth investigations on receiving/shipping related nonconformities.



  • Implements and sustains corporate sponsored and facility-based initiatives such as SQDC, Lean programs and OTOG events.



The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed:

Required:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 7-9 years supporting or working in aWarehouse or Industrialenvironment
  • Four years of experience in a leadership role.


Preferred:



  • Understanding of ISO regulations and GMP


Other:



  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, (i.e. Excel)
  • Above average organizing, analyzing and a minimum of Level 2 math skill (four basic arithmetic functions in all units of measurement, decimals, ratios, rates, percentages) to determine organizational, Customer and regulatory problems and formulate corrective action plans.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective negotiation and team building skills
  • Strong Leadership skills and approachable attitude
  • Experience adapting to changing responsibilities and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Experience working independently under minimal guidelines and supervision
  • Experience training and assisting in the development of staff
