The Master Scheduler / Buyer will coordinate schedules and inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation of the assigned department or facility. Responsible for processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, and maintaining inventory. This position works with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchasing decisions based on demand. This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments.
- Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
- Periodically compares current and anticipated orders with available inventory of raw materials; uses judgment to anticipate demand for and to acquire additional supplies as needed.
- Negotiates with outside supply vendors; ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders.
- Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
- Maintains master distribution schedule for the assigned facility; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
- Leads Weekly Sales and Operations meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
- Ensure critical items needed for production and maintenance are always in stock.
- Initiate purchase orders for production supplies, equipment related parts and supplies for maintenance.
- Locate suppliers for parts that have not been purchased.
- Performs other related duties, as required.

Required Education and Experience
- Associate's Degree or two years of college
- 2-5 years previous scheduling experience
- ERP/MRP experience
- Experience with Value Stream Mapping, QRM, and Lean Manufacturing
- Extremely proficient with production planning systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
- Microsoft Word and Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, J Lookups, v6a, advanced formulas)
- Minimum 2 years purchasing experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Knowledge of electronic manufacturing business
- APICS certification a plus
