POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for creating, planning, and implementing Kid's College programming for the Corporate & Community Services Department. Under the supervision of the Community Education Coordinator, the Kid's College Specialist will recruit and supervise all Kid's College instructors and interns, ensuring that they comply with all JJC procedures and policies regarding individuals working with individuals under 18 years old. In addition to implementing Kid's College, this position will assist with various duties, including but not limited to the following: data entry tasks, student phone calls, registration requests, and completing student payments in the department's registration system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Manage the development, marketing, and delivery of a robust Kid's College program throughout the year, emphasizing summer offerings.
2.Point of Contact for Kid's College Instructors and interns, ensuring their compliance with JJC policies regarding individuals working with students under 18.
3.Coordinate all logistical aspects of the Kid's College courses and curriculum with Kid's College instructors.
4.Assist in developing new Kid's College offerings based on community feedback and enrollment trends. Implement strategies allowing a rapid response to new ideas and developing topics.
5.Regularly assess the impact and effectiveness of Kid's College programming through collecting and analyzing feedback.
6.Identify and apply for potential grant funds related to STEM programming.
7.Monitor revenue expenditures; initiate payment process.
8.Support the Community Education Coordinator in recruiting and hiring Kid's College instructors skilled in delivering high-quality training.
9.Assist with regular department tasks including, but not limited to: data entry, community registration requests, and student payments within the departments' registration system.
10.Assist with achieving a yearly registration number of 500 students enrolled in Kid's College programming.
11.Build relationships with local school districts and non-profit organizations in the community. Attend community events, including school visits, county programming for students, and community days.
12.Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Associate's Degree in Education, Psychology, or Related Field
2.Broad knowledge of K-12 programming designed for students of varying interests and abilities.
3.Two (2) years of related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
4.Attention to detail, multitasking, initiative, and excellent organizational skills required.
5.Knowledge of or willingness to learn student learning principles, group process, risk management, and curriculum design.
6.Ability to work effectively with people, courteous, dependable, and personable with good oral and written communication skills; ability to "sell" and negotiate to achieve mutual goals.
7.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
8.Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor, well-being, innovation, and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1.Bachelor's Degree.
2.Hands-on experience and/or equivalent to completing a four-year college education.
3.Cash handling experience.
4.English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
5. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1.Normal office physical demands and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
2.This position requires a lot of walking throughout the college campuses to begin programs.
3.Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1.Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.
2.This position works Monday - Friday from 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM to assist instructors teaching evening classes and students with their questions.
