Contract Vegetation Program Manager

Description:

Assist the Electric or Gas Transmission, Distribution, or Natural/Environmental Resource operations under the direction of PG&E Representatives. The job entails ensuring circuit reliability, public safety, project goals and customer satisfaction are met in a professional and cost-effective manner Support VM or Land Operations through scheduling, working on process improvement initiatives, and coordination. Provide leadership to vegetation management team members to ensure focus on the group's objectives. Serve as communications liaison among third party contractors and the utility. Act as the technical consultant to teams/groups as required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with difficult customers at the direction of the Program Manager (customer complaints, refusals, difficult access, agencies)
  • At the direction of the PG&E Representative clarify expectations and program direction for PI and TT contractor employees
  • Assist with monitoring the progress and status of pre-inspection and tree work completion
  • Perform database "sleuthing" to identify issues
  • Assist with Agency meetings and field visits to review VM work as directed by the PG&E Program Manager
  • Assist with management of projects
  • Coordinate contractors to meet program goals (including obtaining permits, scheduling, conducting field meetings and performing project set up in the field)
  • Assist in management of the contract review process while enhancing safe work practices in the vegetation management program by providing periodic instruction and observation.
  • Provide effective leadership to the vegetation management team to ensure individual contribution and team success supports corporate goals by communicating the overall direction and performance expectations, in compliance with the APM and labor contract.
  • Promote customer satisfaction by providing an effective interface with internal and external customers, establishing reasonable expectations up front, and then meeting expectations.
  • As requested by Manager, performs all necessary duties for emergency response in accordance with all safety requirements, law and regulations, and applicable labor agreements.
  • Adheres to personal appearance standards and makes a positive personal impression on others. Adheres to attendance policies and faithful in coming when scheduled and conforms to work hour requirements.
  • Conducts work in a safety-conscious manner as not to endanger themselves or others. Keeps the work area [office and/or company vehicle] neat, orderly, and professional in appearance. If applicable, ensures maintenance on company vehicles is done in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

  • A two-year degree in Forestry, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Environmental Studies, Conservation, Natural Resources, or related fields AND/OR
  • Two years experience in line clearance tree pruning work or equivalent as determined by the PG&E Representative
  • Familiar with arboriculture techniques and practices, proper integrated pest management practices, PG&Es tree pruning specifications 5404
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook] or similar software suite
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Minimum age of 21

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of a PG&E Representative, this position oversees the activities, work schedule, and project completion of other contractors to meet program goals.

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Pacific salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited tocustomer contact terms,location,experience, and performance. Other rewards may include Paid Time Off, 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, ESOP contributions, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and other region-specific benefits as eligible.

Salary Range Transparency

For applicants residing inCalifornia, the salary range for this role is from $49.00 minto $ 55.00max.
