Job Summary
Auburn University Human Resources seeks candidates for the position of HR Communications and Project Specialist, who will play a critical and supportive role in the coordination of HR initiatives, programs, and projects. A significant focus of this role will be the creation and coordination of communication and marketing efforts to promote the goals and achievements of University Human Resources ( UHR), enhancing internal and external engagement through various mediums. The candidate best suited for this job will be a strong writer/editor, highly organized, a self-starter, and great collaborator.

Essential Functions


  • Project Coordination: Lead and manage various HR-related projects, ensuring all activities, resources, and information are well-organized. Set actionable tasks and timeframes, and collaborate with appropriate units to achieve project goals. Keep leadership informed with regular project status updates, highlighting requirements, scope, and objectives.



  • Event Planning: Plan and organize special programs, events, and meetings, including participation in on-campus events. Ensure every event is memorable and aligns with UHR's mission.

  • Content Creation and Development: You'll have the opportunity to create and edit content, as well as use your photography and copywriting skills to enhance Auburn University Human Resources internal and external communications, which may include newsletters, websites, and presentations.

  • Marketing and Communication Plans: Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies that promote Auburn University Human Resources' vision, mission, and goals.

  • Social Media Management: Create and publish compelling content on platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube. Grow our audience, recognize employees, advertise employment opportunities, and build UHR's brand awareness.

  • Program Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of our communications, public relations, and marketing programs.
