We are currently looking for a dynamic individual to join us as a Senior Tax Manager at our corporate headquarters located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Tax Director.

Job Scope

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in ASC 740 (Income Tax Accounting) and demonstrated leadership abilities. Other responsibilities, depending on your experience, could involve review of Federal, multistate and/or international compliance and tax planning, implementing and leveraging technology solutions and participating in other special projects.

In summary, as the Senior Tax Manager, your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Significant involvement in the design, review and final preparation steps of our Global quarterly and annual ASC 740 calculations, including footnotes and disclosures.
  • Oversee the maintenance of a comprehensive tax provision systems (we use OneSource Tax Provision), ensuring accuracy in calculations and compliance with current accounting standards.
  • Guide and mentor tax staff in technical matters related to ASC 740, tax compliance, and general professional development.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders including Finance, Accounting, and business units to gather necessary information and provide strategic tax insights for business decisions.
  • Review of the U.S. corporate income tax compliance and reporting, Federal, multistate and/or US International.
  • Lead and support U.S. and global tax planning initiatives.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Field of Study: Bachelor's in accounting or finance.
  • Years of Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with at least 5 years of experience in ASC 740.
  • Required Experience: Corporate Tax; strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 740.

Specific Skills and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a large public accounting firm or large corporate tax department.
  • Strong ASC740 experience.
  • Federal and International or multistate corporate tax experience.
  • Experience with tax planning and restructuring, and knowledge of M&A tax implications.
  • Must demonstrate confidence with leveraging technology and have a strong daily working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (OneSource Tax Provision is a plus).
  • Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.
  • Must be an independent self-starter with a high level of confidence and a critical approach to matters.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • CPA or JD strongly preferred but not required.
