Viasat is seeking a passionate and innovative professional to join our team as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) and

Alternate Contractor Special Program Security Officer (ACPSO/ACSSO) of the Duluth, GA location. You'll work in a collaborative and inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and continuous learning. The day-to-day

This position is responsible for maintaining strict compliance with government, customer and company security policies, 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and NISPOMSUP, NSA CSS 3/16, Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), DoD 5205.07 SAP Manuals volumes 1-4, Risk Management Framework (NIST 800-53, JSIG), contractually imposed Program Security Directives/Guides, and Viasat Standard Practices and Procedures (SPP).

The essential functions of the FSO and ACPSO/ACSSO include:

  • FSO implements all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
  • Support Special Programs team as a ACPSO/ACSSO ensuring strict compliance with government, customer, and company security policies.
  • Successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and the ability to work independently as well as with a team of Industrial Security Professionals.
  • Work with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), NSA, government customers and contractor personnel in a professional manner.
  • Liaison with local and federal law enforcement, federal investigators, and emergency response personnel.
  • Program duties include document control, destruction and accountability, clearance processing, briefings, classification management, records maintenance, visitor control, meeting coordination, foreign travel, incident investigation, self-inspections, physical security, etc.
  • General office support with an emphasis on process document generation and implementation.
  • Effectively apply compliant physical and procedural local security measures with minimal negative impacts to business operations.
  • Support the Viasat Comsec team by aiding with receipt, dispatch, and accountability of Comsec and keying materials. Maintain accurate records using the DIAS database.
  • Objectively and professionally conduct investigations regarding critical issues and violations of compliance requirements and written policies.
  • Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel.
  • Processing outgoing and incoming visit requests through DISS.
  • Implement SEAD 3 Foreign Travel processing and reporting for eligible personnel.
  • Responsible for visitor control administration and coordination of onsite or offsite meetings.
  • Maintain, audit, and evaluate industrial security practices against contractual requirements.
  • Participate in periodic self-inspections and assessments as required by DCSA, NSA and other government reviews.
  • Complete safety related duties with oversight and direction from Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety staff.

What you'll need

  • 2+ years' experience supporting the DoD or cleared defense industry implementing the NISPOM.
  • 2+ years working with SAP and/or SCI programs with solid understanding of ICD 503 & 705.
  • US Citizenship with active Top Secret Clearance.
  • Familiarity with security applications (e.g., DISS, NISS, SIMS, DIAS).
  • Excellent written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Enable the business as a customer service provider through timely assistance and direction supporting program execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Possess the interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Works well under pressure, possess good problem-solving skills and able to enforce policies in a professional and personable manner.
  • Availability to respond to after-hours alarms and emergency conditions.
  • Strong administration skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

What will help you on the job

  • Active Top Secret SCI Clearance.
  • Completion of the DCSA National Security Learning Center FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum.
  • Completion of ACSSO or ACPSO training courses.
  • NSA COR COMSEC Account Manager training course.
  • Prior experience as an FSO and COMSEC Manager or Custodian.
  • Experience in working with the United States Intelligence Community (USIC).
  • Expertise of the NISPOM and other Government directives/policies with proven, sustain history of an effective security program.
  • Familiarity with controls related to RMF, DAAPM, CUI, FOUO, and CMMC.

Salary range

$94,500.00 - $134,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $116,500.00- $157,500.00/ annually
