Quality Control Floor Staff Manufacturing - Midnights Monday - Wednesday and every other Thursday 5:00pm - 5:00am The hourly wage for this position is $21.80 to $22.67 plus $1/hour shift dif. This highly visible position is located at our Vancouver, WA Facility. What you'll do: This position will be responsible for specialized and routine production inspection activities according to established Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices requirements. Essential Functions:
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide assistance for all questions regarding quality defects.
- Audit all areas for quality and GMP conformance.
- Ensure batch documentation is filled out according to requirements.
- Update and complete documentation and logs as required, including observation reports.
- Photocopy, sort and/or file documents or reports as requested.
- Inform Quality Control (QC) Shift Lead, QC Supervisor, or QC Manager on all personnel issues.
- Identify and implement improvements to the QC procedures as needed.
- Perform the following according to exact established procedures:
- Equipment checks
- Weight checks
- Facility sanitation
- Pack out quality
- Lot and Code dates
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of production equipment (processing and pack out equipment) and its related impact on overall quality.
- Identify urgent quality situations, assess the nature of the problem then contain, resolve, or recommend action quickly.
- Ensure all personnel in the clean rooms and production areas are wearing the proper attire.
- Ensure proper cleaning is performed prior to next production run.
- Ensure the line clearance inspection is performed and documented before each production run and inspect the production area to ensure that all components from previous run are removed before another production run is started.
- Check the Equipment Use Log to ensure it is correctly and completely filled out before each production run.
- Verify that the components match the Work Order, Bill of Materials (BOM), and actual kit.
- Stop the lines immediately if a discrepancy is found, contact the QC Shift Lead, QC Supervisor, or QC Manager and help to perform an investigation.
- Pull quality samples, in a sanitary manner, at all applicable production steps which include but is not limited to hot vitamin slurry as well as bulk product.
- Calibrate or verify all quality equipment.
- Monitor the dry rooms using a basic understanding of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you'll need:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous QC experience in an FDA regulated industry preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative documentation.
- Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to detect quality problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts rather than opinions.
- Ability to comply with standards and procedures.
- Good understanding of 21 CFR 111 GMP for Dietary Supplements and NSF -ANSI 173.
- Ability to maintain punctuality and predictable attendance.
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and clean room attire; perform moderate physical activity which requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day and up to twelve (12) hours per shift and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds; and perform work onsite in a light industrial environment, including some exposure to non-toxic dust.
