Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:


  • Must be able to pass a basic mechanical aptitude test
  • Previous work experience in a maintenance or skilled trade environment
  • Previous experience using hand tools
  • Previous experience interpreting diagrams and technical documentation or directions
  • Prior "hands-on" experience in a heavy maintenance environment
  • Demonstrates structural repair skills through satisfactory completion of the Structures Assessment project
  • Demonstrates fine motor skills, manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Demonstrates reliability and dependability in completion of formal classroom training modules
  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal directions, to interpret diagrams and to correct errors.
  • Demonstrates desire to learn trade of Aircraft Structures repair
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to practice safe work procedures
  • Demonstrates ability to precisely manipulate hand tools in a variety of situations
  • Basic computer proficiency accessing digital manuals, training material, regulations, etc...


Major Responsibility Areas and Duties:


  • Successful completion of AIRBORNE 12 week formal Aircraft Structures Trainee classroom program
  • Perform aircraft structures maintenance, repair, and/or modification on customer aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data, customer maintenance program requirements, within estimated or budgeted hours and within FAA and customers standards of quality.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, structural repair manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, service bulletins, and engineering orders to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged structural components.
  • Document all maintenance in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with AIRBORNE, customer and FAA guidelines.
  • Responsible for completing and attaching parts tags to removed repairable, serviceable, or condemned parts IAW with customer and/or repair station guidelines.
  • Use and safely operate all required powered and non-powered ground support equipment.
  • Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within established safety guidelines.
