MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
For West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations:
1.Completion of an Accredited Radiography School.
2. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the NMTCB.
3.Radiologist Technologist through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners, or applicable state where services will be performed.
4.Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or NMTCB in Computed Tomography.
5.Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
1.Two (2) years of Radiology experience.
For Pennsylvania locations:
1.Completion of an Accredited Radiography School.
2. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the NMTCB.
3.Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or NMTCB in Computed Tomography.
4.Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
EXPERIENCE:
1.Two (2) years of Radiology experience.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Oversees daily work flow and problem solving.
2. Assists with quality assurance functions.
3. Provides direct feedback to Supervisor/Manager regarding technologist performance.
4. Participates in Human Resource functions related to interviewing, selection and retention of staff.
5. Ensures consistent practice of quality imaging among all shifts and individuals.
6. Rotates in all Diagnostic areas for development of technical skills.
7. Performs image procedures based on assessment of the status of the patient, request of the service, and imaging protocols. Monitored by periodic image evaluations and supervision.
8. Produces images of optimal quality by using imaging equipment and systems in the provision of image delivery and archiving.
9. Select exposure factors based on patient's size, condition, and pathology resulting in optimal image quality, utilizing minimal radiation exposure.
10. Minimizes radiation exposure to self, patients and other staff by the use of shielding, collimation, application of the inverse square law, and minimizing repeat exposures.
11. Maintains an expertise in anatomy, physiology, and pathology relative to imaging in order to optimize the procedure and ensure patient care/safety.
12. Assesses patient's needs and provides imaging related to comfort, hygiene, range of motion, and provides support accordingly.
13. Prepares contrast agents, specific pharmaceuticals, and sterile trays; which are utilized for the imaging procedure according to procedural guidelines and protocols.
14. Educates patients regarding radiographic procedures by explaining the procedure and answering questions accordingly.
15. Promotes the team approach to providing Radiology services by positively interacting with the technical, support, nursing, and medical staff.
16. Engages in problem solving, crisis management, systems implementation, and performance improvements throughout the hospital to promote and support efficient, high quality, and cost effective patient care.
17. Displays imaging techniques, patient care, and guest relation behaviors in accordance with the ARRT Code of Ethics, Administrative Policies and Procedures, Radiology Department Policies and Procedures, State and Federal Regulation, and The Joint Commission guidelines.
18. Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification.
19. Completes all in-services and competencies by the required date and applies knowledge gained.
20. Position patients accurately in accordance with established protocols.
21. Ensures that all vital components of the imaging process are completed in their entirety.
22. Performs as a Computed Tomography Technologist producing images of optimal quality on all versions of CT Scanners, Vital Imaging Software, Post Processing tools, and the PACS System for image delivery and archiving.
23. Establishes and evaluates required IV access for procedures.
24. Demonstrates proficiency utilizing advanced work station for image manipulation.
25. Rotates in all diagnostic areas as assigned.

3. Hearing and visual acuity must be within normal range.
4. Must be able to read and write legibly in English.

3. Must have the ability to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific principles, and also be able to collaborate with other multi-disciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion.
4. Must have the ability to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
5. Must have effective reading and comprehension skills.
6. Must have basic math and algebra skills to calculate radiation exposure factors.
7. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and all shifts.
